Team U11s
Match 1 Beat Brackley 5-0
After a difficult start to the season. Bugbrooke came out determined and worked tirelessly in the first half. Good discipline amongst the team, strong driving and good passing gave Ben Stobart the opening try. The second half was also well fought – all taking place in the oponents half but Brackley defended well and just prevented Joel Martin and Callum Ogden from scoring at the line.
Match 2 Beat Rugby St Andrews 21-7
With confidence boosted the team put in a magnificent performance with maximum effort. After a clearance kick, Steven Gill made ground up to keep posession and handed Courtney Raymond the first try – converted by Peter Austin. The pack led by Toby Hunt worked hard with Alex Rew, Lawrence Ward and Jordan Clayton moving the ball forwards allowing Sam East to make some great drives. Finally captain Toby Hunt drove over the line to score – this time converted by Callum Ogden. Not to be outdone, the backs – Harry Buswell, Dylan Forbes and Ben Stobart put in some excellent tackles and passes. Adam Mcleod recycled the ball well and ultimately gave Courtney Raymond the third try which Peter Austin converted again. Toby hunt earned the man of the match award.

U7s
It was great to see a good turn out of players and parents, all of whom seemed to enjoy the morning. Bugbrooke drew 6-6 with the first Daventry team; the rugby was excellent from both sides with plenty of tackling and passing and hardly any mistakes. Long Buckby beat us 4-1, they were very quick on the break and found the space in the corners with ease. Bugbrooke won the third game against a mixed Daventry team on a ‘next try wins’ basis, I’m not sure if anybody actually knew the score! Again, the game was excellent with some great rugby and fair play all round. It was encouraging to see very few mistakes being made and trys coming from many different players and a combined team effort. It was close but I think the players enjoyed the sausage and chips slightly more than the games!!
